Has it ever happened to you that you drove for an hour or two from home to work or between two any other two points – and then did not remember much of what you saw ? Large part of our daily lives are like that . Many of us go through most of our lives like this. I'm telling you it's normal and it's up to us on how we handle every situation. We can live life the way we want. We can make it so touching, so serious -but it can also be so funny , exciting and full of joy ! Fergus @ 2 in the underwater city of BIKINI BOTTOM

I could hardly believe the fact that I am now a mother of a two year old charming little boy. Yes , I am and I feel great about it. Years from now , we'll just be like friends hanging out together for funs of life. I would like to share with u guys some of the pics taken on his 2nd birthday ( January 23, 2009 ) held in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom.Fergus is one of the many others who look up to spongebob's big heart. Aside from Barney, dora and other cartoon characters , he finds spongebob amazing of them all. So, I've decided to ask spongebob and company ( squidward, Sandy and his best buddy Patrick ) to join my son in his simple 2nd birthday celebration.

Sinulog '09 with ig agaws

The Sinulog festival is one of the grandest and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. The main festival is held each year on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City to honor the Santo Niño, or the child Jesus, who used to be the patron saint of the whole province of Cebu (since in the Catholic faith Jesus is not a saint, but God). It is essentially a dance ritual which remembers the Filipino people’s pagan past and their acceptance of Christianity.

The festival features some the country’s most colorful displays of pomp and pageantry: participants garbed in bright-colored costumes dance to the rhythm of drums, trumpets, and native gongs. The streets are usually lined with vendors and pedestrians all wanting to witness the street-dancing. Smaller versions of the festival are also held in various parts of the province, also to celebrate and honor the Santo Niño. There is also a Sinulog sa Kabataan, which is performed by the youths of Cebu a week before the Grand Parade.

Recently, the cultural event has been commercialized as a tourist attraction and instead of traditional street-dancing from locals, Sinulog also came to mean a contest featuring contingents from various parts of the country. The Sinulog Contest is traditionally held in the Cebu City Sports Complex, where most of Cebu’s major provincial events are held.

Many foreign and local folks visit Cebu every year to join the celebration. That is why, we stayed at one place ...specifically outside the twins' residence at Asilo ( jeanne and grace- cousins of my hubby )in order to give way to people coming from far places outside Cebu and outside the country. I personally chose to go to Santo Nino before or after the day of the celebration itself. I had a great time with all of them. Thanks guys for the terrific moments shared !

Bonding on a Sunday of January '09

We usually attend mass every Sunday at either Redemptorist Church or Asilo Chapel. This time we attended the holy mass at Redemtorist Church and right after the H.M , we went to Ayala for a lil of family bonding. As you can see, fergus enjoyed the ride thru his papa's shoulders. what a ride dude !

When Filipino kids begin to recognize the fun brought by jollibee , most families no longer get the chance to choose where to dine during sundays , on special occasions and gatherings. Kids should be considered first in choosing venues for meal. Whether parents like it or not , let's join and have fun with our kids at JOLLIBEE .....weeeeeeeeeee.

You can call me " Dashi "

hi guys ! ! ! "D A S H I" Yes my family and friends usually call me by that name.You might wonder where this nick came from that in fact EDIZA Fernandez MANSANADEZ is my real name . Dashi was actually brought up through joke by my cousin, Wanis who is known to be the comedian among us. He created nicks not just for me but also to my other cousins. An ordinary couple of Argao named Ernesto Mansanadez Sr. and Virgilia Fernadez were blessed for the 6th time when I was born on October 13 , 1983. All throughout my infant and childhood days , I lived a simple life with my family in Argao. My father used to be a skilled carpenter and my mom helped my Papa do a little of farming in our field. Our life was solemn, peaceful. I miss the silence, the ticking of the clock especially in the afternoon , the bird chirping, the sound of roosters at dawn , the drama series on radio usually listened by the whole neighborhood in the absence of television and electricity that time. I miss those unforgettable moments I had with my family, cousins and childhood friends. All those times, the memories are worth missing for.

Dashi's Philisophy

All persons in this world cotinually search for the meaning of life -of what is real. A lot of things have been said and written about these specially those whose thinking have been clouded by religious conceptions. There are no rainbows in clear skies. Answers to these questions will always remail unclear.

Each person has its own belief and is standing up for something which I call it " Philosophy in life". Being one, I don't fully believe with destiny or shall we say fate. In life , there are so much things to explore . We have limitless opportunities to choose from and live the life we want. It's just a matter of how we cope up with the demands of an active and busy lifestyle. I believe that most of what we get in life is by freewill and seldom by chance. For most of us, our existence in this world is a struggle for survival . So, I don't get surprised by even and odds in my life and everybody else's lives.

To live in this world one needs to set up certain goals and ambitions.I may be just an ordinary person who lives an ordinary life but I've got giant plans in life, set in my own standards. I dreamed to be an accomplished woman balancing a successful career with an exemplary family life. I just wish my family to cherish me as a dedicated mother and a loving wife.

The life that I experienced in the past was quite uneasy. My parents are poor specially when I was still studying to the extent that there were moments when my stomach kept on growling due to hunger. That was unbearable, but it was also deemed necessary to listen to the teacher, do all the school works and projects despite everything.

With these , my mind and soul are set to a goal that I as a mother should do all necessary means to give my children bright future and as much as I can, I won't permit a single moment that they'll experience the same thing I did. As much as possible, I'll let them concentrate with their studies and that they'll no longer worry for allowance and tuition fees that may possibly hinder in making their dreams come true. I have lot of life's frustrations and as long as I live I won't stop trying.

To those that I couldn't pursue anymore , I'll leave it up to my children. More importantly, I'll let my children live a life believing in God. I don't want them to depend with luck -I just want them to be choosy and make their own destiny !

High School Days at The Sisters of Mary Girlstown School

After my elementary years (1996), I was lucky enough to get in a prestigious High School Institution, The Sisters of Mary Girlstown School. It is located at J.P. Rizal Street , Talisay Cebu . This was actually founded by Msgr. Aloysius Schwartz in order to help the poorest of the poor like me. I belong to the 7th batch. Everything is free inside- food ,tuition fee , including our basic necessities. The Sisters are not asking anything from the students except to study well and to follow the School's rules and regulations at all times .
The Campus is very conducive for learning and I cannot deny the fact that I learned so many good things inside. I salute to both the competence of the faculty members and to the disciplinary action imposed by the nuns. It was an honor for me to experience living a healthy life inside.
Most of us missed the outside world during our first year of stay there. It's a normal thing to miss our loved ones but I dont regret that I became part of the School. I indulged myself to diffirent curicullar activities. I became one of the Rondalla Members of our batch. That was fun fun fun.! Aside from playing during the holy mass every wednesday and sunday , we also got the Chance to play at Waterfront Hotel and at the Cultural Center of the Philippines ( CCP ) and many other venues outside the School. There are various of activities where you can be involved . You can join any of the sports team , choir, cheers, you can either participate indoor and outdoor games etc.,.
There were times when daily Schedules seemed quiet boring for me. Like in the morning , we had to wake up at 6 or 7 am ( uncertain of the exact sched ) and say a little prayer , then take a shower . Afterwhich , we were given time to study for 30 minutes and then breakfast followed , cleaning time and classes began at 8 am 'til 4:30 pm and so on...... We attended holy mass every Wednesday, Sunday and on special occasions. We only had one two-week vacation each year and that usually fell on January. Our family were given the chance to visit us every first sunday of September. Life inside was really far different from my life now. We were not free to do all the things we want. There were times when I felt everything inside is abnormal... but later I realized that their ways are helpful though. Whatever I am now and wherever I may go , I won't forget every little thing I had at the Sisters of Mary Girlstown School. I may not be active for the Alumni Association gatherings but I want the World to know that “ I am what I am now because of the things I've learned from the School ” .
I started my high shool days at SOM on May 1996 and I finally graduated on Deceber 1999. Before I graduated , I was hired on August 1999 at Muramoto Audio Visual Philippines ( Mepza ) like many others with the endorsement and consent of the Sisters In-charged. I was still 16 years old that time. The sisters put us in place – at a boarding house with our basic needs goos for two months . They paid for our boarding house during our first and second month and even gave us cash for our allowance.
All these things will forever be stored in my mind and in my heart....the strict but JUST nuns who acted as our parents in the campus , the moral values and virtues, the academics , and many others. Thanks to my teachers and the Sisters in-charged, to my doormates ( St Angela Family ) for the memories. And above all...Thank you Fr. Al for all of these .
P.S. For others , I might not have the best high school experience with junior and senior prom etc., but for me, it's the best of bests. Do you guys get it ?

My Mark Antonio

I got married at an early age of 23 not by accident but by choice. charr... We had our civil wedding held in Argao on September 11, 2006. That was such a memorable day to both of us and to those who love us. Basta "kataw anan" ! Mark, as a husband and a father is very responsible, very supportive and he has shown and proven himself being raced by his guardian well. I am so thankful to have a partner in life like him-wise, intelligent, talented and he is doing his best to provide our needs ! I am so proud of this Antonio of mine - I COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE . I may say that I've chosen the right package. . .He is a type of a man who can't afford to see us unhappy. But, I'm not telling you guys that we as a couple is living a perfect life. We sometimes faught and will surely fight because of our shortcomings and weaknesses. It's normal for a couple to sometimes be in trouble - we're just human to commit mistakes. There's no such phrase as " perfect marriage" for us humans. So , I don't give a damn belief to couples who would testify that their marriage, their relationship is perfect. One good thing I'm proud of is when I fight with Mark , we're not letting a day ends until we reconcile . The only complaint I could ever file againtst him on court if just possible is his irritating and annoying attitude. He's a certified teaser. He's always teasing me to death . If you know what I mean , " PALAGOT SA KONTRA " Telling you of our love history, we first met in Pizza Hut Ayala Cebu City ... everything ran fast with our love story and we just woke up one day that we're indeed for each other . January 23 of 2007, we were blessed with our first baby boy, Marcus Fergus Martinez. He has strengthened and is making our relationship stronger each day . Hopefully soon , we'll finally profess our vow of marriage in the Altar of God . . . AjAH !

Early as one month , we knew I was pregnant. My pregnancy was wonderful. I felt great and no problems unlike many other pregnant women experienced. Mark jumped up for joy when I arrived from a scheduled Ultrasound. The doctor announced that we're gonna have a baby boy. I was due on January 9 of 2007 and that date came and went. We were very worried until at 2 am of January 23, a sign showed that we have to rush to the hospital. Pain invaded my senses. I had to pinch the nurses' and doctors' hands on duty to help me ease the pain I felt, pain that nobody could ever explain. Just imagine how it feels like when you're in labor for more or less than 16 hours. He finally came into our life at 8 pm of January 23 2007, fortunately healthy at 7 lbs. and 5 oz. It was the happiest day of my life by far. I couldn't expain how happy I was when the physician placed my son on my chest. My heartbeat against his. My husband sweetly kissed me while I was dragged thru cart on my way to my room after delivery. Our little boy has strengthened the bond between me and my husband. We named him " MARCUS FERGUS " .Marcus was basically taken from his father's name, Mark Antonio and Fergus is a greek word means " charming ".

From that day on , my life is much more fun and meaningful. We really see to it that in every simple decision we make , Marcus should be first thought of and considered. The worst thing I experienced after Marcus came out was when I breast fed him. FYI , my nipples were inverted and I found it hard to do proper positions in breasfeeding. My nipples were wounded so every time my Marcus cried for Milk , I also shed tears in preparation for extreme pain before he sucks for milk . That lasted for two weeks and I then felt at ease later on until his 4th month. I stopped breasfeeding Fergus. I ran out of breast milk due to my eating habit and my work schedule. I rendered tutorials for Koreans 8 hours a day. I got hectic schedules then and on. Those were just one or two of the sacrifices a mother like me experienced. I know and aware that many more will be encounted in the years to come. I have to accept that a mother plays an important role in building the basic foundation a child needs that is why I'm making myself prepared each day. Everything is worth sacrificing if it is for your son's sake. I love my son so much and now that he is learning to talk , I am so happy and thankful that God gave him to me. He is so sweet, handsome and charming Kid as you can see. His presence takes away my pain , hurts , boredom and stress from everyday workloads; I am so proud to have him in my life ; He is making me happy each day; He is making me smile from time to time ; He is making my life complete ; Thank you Lord for giving FERGUS into my life ...
